Denise L. Drummond, a resident of Poughkeepsie and formerly of the Bronx, died on November 10, 2017. She was 65 years old.
Denise was born on January 18, 1952 in the Bronx to the late Vincent Persiano and Victoria Spadafino. She is survived by her husband Ronald Drummond, whom she married on February 6, 1993; her sisters, Michele Fidanza and Angela Pagano; her nieces, Melissa Fidanza, Tara Tierney, Victoria Pagano, and Angela Pagano; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Anyone who knew Denise knew how much she loved life and her family. She had the best memory and loved telling stories of her childhood growing up with her family on Mapes Avenue. The simplicity of a sunset and the love of her life by her side was enough to make her happy. Her generosity, compassion, and selflessness are just a few words to describe her beautiful soul. She enjoyed bargain shopping, watching the Yankees, and decorating her house. Like all Italians do, she cooked for an army and force fed her family and friends.
Above all, her biggest accomplishment in life was the day she met and instantly fell in love with her soulmate, Ronnie. Even in her last days, her only worry was making sure Ronnie was going to be alright. Although their marriage was going against the grain and didn’t follow a typical path, her faith in their love overcame any challenges. She was complete.
